Hawaii Adventure Part 1: The Feast

We had an amazing opportunity to visit the big island of Hawaii.

We spent one week in Kona, and two weeks near Pahala.

Preparation was in order, for flying with three kids was a daunting experience that I wanted to make sure I was as ready for it as I could be.

My parents were with us on the flight to Hawaii, which was so nice. Having more hands and eyes is always a great thing. Crosby slept on Pops for most of the first flight.

The flight feels long enough, but even though we left at 6 AM, we got to Hawaii at 12:30 PM. After that we got our rental van, shopped for some groceries, then drove up to our rental house. By then it felt like we had been awake for two days straight. At least, that's how I felt.

Most of the Feast of Tabernacles we spent enjoying the beach, pool, and family. There was a cold bug that a few of us had to kick, but aside from that it was a pretty chill Feast.

Exploring a nearby beachy area.

Pool time! These four were inseparable.

Our beach hang out spot. We came here a few times. A few of us went snorkeling. There was a lot to see.

Trying it on for size. None of the kids really wanted to go out, but they had fun feeling like they were preparing for something major.

Ice cream time!

Big Crosby boy!

Nick took the kids to a spot where the fish would nibble at your toes.

Ready for action!

Sunset view from our house.

Children's choir. Sabrina gave everyone a nice big yawn in the middle of the song.

The kids loved this little koi pond at the resort where we went to church.

Our babies!
(Yes Crosby has a piece of grass hanging from his nose. He was so cute!)

Sunset at Lava Lava Beach Club. Best friends forever.
This was an awesome restaurant, definitely recommend it.

Because of the cold bug, we didn't get to do as much as we might have liked during this week, but Nick did get to hike to the top of Mauna Kea and take in some great views.

This is showing the shadow of the mountain. They got to see the full moon of the start of the Feast of Tabernacles.

Sunset. So beautiful.

The first part of our trip was enjoyable, however it felt like it went by way too fast. The next part of our adventure would be different, but still an awesome experience.
